Chemainus of the Cowichan Valley has delightfully
redecorated itself into a one of the more popular small village
destinations in British Columbia, Canada. The village has
recorded well over 300,000 tourists per year, in recent years.
The streets of Chemainus are full of tasteful
boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and gift shops. There
is a good selection of accommodations, gas stations and a
few banks in the village. The Chemainus Theatre
is one of the premier theatres in the area and draws people
from miles around.
The rebirth, face lift and new attitude still are apparent
today... the ice cream shops, unique restaurants and many
talented art galleries and many smiles supports the claim,
' The Little Town That Did '.
Chemainus BC is waterfront community with
views of wildlife, islands, marine activity and sea birds.
The community is also the winner of the 1994 British Airways
' Tourism for Tomorrow Award' and also the proud first place
winner of the New York based ' Downtown Revitalization ' award! |
