Victoria Roche Cove Regional Park & Trail

Roche Cove Regional Park is comprised of 117 hectares of cedar forests, fallen underbrush and coastal rugged marine landscapes. The trails and park is thick with trees creating cedar scent, especially after a rainfall. The park's cedar scent from the trees escapes into the air consuming your every breath. The 7 kilometre Roche Cove Trail winds its way along a creek bed attracting the attention of the small wildlife like squirrels along the trail. The area is filled with vistas covered in grassy slopes climbing to hilltop views with trees standing tall taking in the views over Roche Cove. The best part to this adventure is the hiking trail through the forest, ferns and underbrush. It is refreshing to be able to enjoy nature and yet, it is a Regional Park close to civilization. A keen eye and a good camera can do wonders when exploring Roche Cove, be prepared for a good hike. Bring water. The trail is relatively well maintained and marked. Please, come enjoy the serenity of our Vancouver Island wilderness. It is never far away. How to get to Roche Cove Regional Park: The park is located northwest of downtown Victoria towards the community of Sooke, Vancouver Island, BC. Once arriving in the seaside community of Sooke head east and turn onto Gillespie Road. You can also access the Roche Cove Regional Park by getting healthy the west coast way by hiking or horseback riding into Roche Cove from any of the many access points of the longer 60 kilometre Galloping Goose Regional Trail.
