Zeballos, BC, Esperanza Inlet, Vancouver Island: A
remote wilderness setting engulfs and embellishes the community
of Zeballos BC. The village, previously a gold
mining town, is set at the mouth of the Esperanza Inlet
and today it is a forestry and marine hub equipped with a deep
sea dock serving the the "comings ad goings" of recreational
and cargo vessels delivering supplies and people. The Zeballos
area is naturally rugged - stocked with thick lush forests with
a mountainous backdrop creating an ideal environment for a growing
outdoor recreation industry.

Esperanza Inlet of Zeballos, Nuchatlitz Inlet and the Bunsby Islands all combine there unique marine environments in creating an ideal wilderness playground for many different types of outdoor activities. People from all over travel the 40 Kilometre gravel logging road from the Hwy 19 turn off south of Port McNeill to experience either a kayak adventure, fishing charter, boating tour, camping trip, some mountain biking, a backpacking trek, scuba dive or a wildlife tour. The wildlife sightings never end with opportunities to view Bald Eagles, Orca Whales, seals, Trumpeter Swans, Back Bears and more.
The Village of Zeballos has many of the necessary amenities of a small community. There is a variety of accommodations including a hotel, motel, B&Bs, lodges, RV and tenting campgrounds. In the village core is a general store, gas station, restaurants, marine supplies, medical clinic, library, ATM, pubs and liquor store. Much of it is all within walking distance each other.
Around the area of Zeballos, BC there is an opportunity to do some spelunking at the Little Husan Caves which is just a short drive away. The road that continues past the community of Zeballos travels through thick forests to Fair Harbour and Resolution Park - another camping, hiking and kayak launching destination point.
