How to Get to Tahsis, B.C., Canada:Tahsis is located 385 km
(220 mi) north of Victoria BC. Follow Hwy 1 up to the central Vancouver Island
area around Campbell River. At this point you are only about 89 km (55 mi) from
Gold River BC. Take the Hwy 28 exit and head west driving by Elk Falls Park, following
alongside Campbell Lake passing by Snakehead Lake and Gooseneck Lake up pass Upper
Campbell Lake and the serene Buttle Lake. The road passes the gates of the majestic
rainforests and wildlife arena of Strathcona Provincial Park. Out the other side
of the park is Gold River BC. Continue the drive over active gravel logging roads into rugged wilderness
to Tahsis BC which is only 70 km (43 mi) from Gold River. Take Hwy
28, onto a gravel road. Both villages accessed by float plane, vehicle and boat.
Yuquot on Nootka Island may be accessed by float plane and boat.
