Beach is
a beautiful sandy beach and a very popular sandy beach...
mainly because it is close to the village of Tofino BC
and all the main amenities. The beautiful fine sand of
the beach is a popular destination for walking, jogging
and lounging because the beach is so long and sand is
so plentiful. The fact that many resorts are on the shores
of Mackenzie Beach or within close walking distance draws
attention to the beach also.
MacKenzie Beach is in a protected bay fronted
by rock outcroppings and backed with wind dwarfed trees.
MacKenzie Beach is an ideal family beach because the waves
are usually calmer then the other beaches making them
more accessible to swim in for children.
The
beach is long and filled with beach activity often like
sandcastle building, bogey boarding, beach walks, snorkeling,
frisbee, broche ball, reading, surfing and relaxing. MacKenzie
Beach is ideal for swimming and bogey boarding because
of the slow slapping waves, shallow waters and the vast
amount of open spaces to wander.
How to get to MacKenzie Beach:
The MacKenzie Beach area is located at the end of Helesen
Rd. An area with very little parking. MacKenzie Beach
is within walking distance of the village of Tofino BC,
so if you can, leave the car at base camp, do it.
